The dam on Coffee Run above the old woolen mill

Visiting the Juniata River Valley can feel like stepping back in time. Historic architecture, small family-owned stores, and the quiet countryside and relaxed pace of life all add to the area’s appeal. The Lewistown Train Station, built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1849, is thought to be the oldest structure they built that is still in use. The station stays busy welcoming travelers boarding the Amtrak, traveling between NYC and Pittsburgh. The Stone Arch Bridge, built in 1813 and located near Lewistown, is the oldest single-arch stone bridge in central PA. Visit one of our many museums including the Tuscarora Academy Museum, the McCoy House Museum, the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center and others.
